A brief history of how Richland Economic Development Corporation was formed:
Richland Economic Development was organized by visionary, dedicated businessmen and women in 1987 to work with various agricultural, service and commercial business entities throughout Richland County to foster economic growth. Its ultimate goal is to spur long term expansion and to strengthen the economic base of Richland County.
Our mission statement guides the organization to take action or encourage action by others which will assist potential new or existing businesses to improve their chance of survival and contribution to economic growth, to generate jobs and to increase wealth in Richland County. This is accomplished by providing technical assistance, financial resource assistance, education and training opportunities, and by serving as a focal point and facilitator for short and long term county-wide economic development initiatives and partnerships.
A full-time office staff, paid by investments from a committed county community, and a volunteer Board develops and utilizes partnerships with local, state, regional, and federal professional resources. These resources provide services and access to people and organizations which can make things happen for the benefit of the entire county and regional trade area.
