LOBBYIST ACTIVITY REPORT

2007 LEGISLATIVE SESSION

WEEK NINE

(February 25, 2007 – March 3, 2007)

During Week Nine of the 2007 Legislative Session there was no proposed legislation for which I provided testimony. The Legislative activity in Week 9 consisted mostly of Floor Debate because the Transmittal Date, day 45, was on Wednesday, February 28. The Legislature has recessed until Monday, March 5, 2007.

During the first nine weeks of the Legislature, I monitored 102 bills that could have an impact on the Richland Economic Development Corporation and Richland County. Of the 102 bills, 35 bills did not meet the transmittal date and are therefore probably “dead” for further consideration by the 2007 Legislature.

A significant issue in the second half of the 2007 Legislature will be the consideration and passage of several appropriations bills to fund General Government for the next biennium, July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009.
